The Image Analysis Project was the pivotal point in my RAD 438 Radiographic Image Analysis course. For this project, we were assigned a sub-optimal x-ray image. Mine was an anterior posterior chest projection. The project required a power point presentation that evaluated the image based on the correct image analysis criteria for the projection. Points such as recorded detail, patient position, contrast, density, and more were evaluated. This project in the course was an eye opener for me because it showed that if you do not take the time to evaluate each x-ray image you take, you are liable to make mistakes. It also showed me that at first glance an image may seem decent, but according to the image analysis criteria, for that image, the image may need improvement. Taking time to preform the exam correctly and knowing the image analysis criteria can help a technologist or myself preform our best.
