The radiographic pathology project in RAD 436 Radiographic Pathology was a pivotal moment for me. This project allowed us to research and make a power point discussing a pathology that we commonly see in our field of work. Living in the south, along the Mississippi River, Histoplasmosis is a common fungal infection that can be seen on x-rays. Histoplasmosis was my topic. I really liked and enjoyed this project mainly because it concerned something familiar to me that I did now know much about. The project helped me to understand that as a technologist it is not my responsibility to diagnosis a patient, but it is my responsibility to be able to identify a pathology and adjust the procedure as needed.
